Charging while you shop at Tesco, Lidl and more
Pod Point (founded 2009, now owned by EDF Energy) is primarily known as a home charger installer, but also operates one of the UK's largest public networks. Its partnership with Tesco gives it unmatched supermarket coverage. A recent rebranding to "Pod" and introduction of Pod Drive home charging subscription signals expansion beyond public infrastructure.
Pod Point has no subscription tier. Pricing varies widely by location — Tesco sites start from around 35p/kWh for AC charging, while 75 kW rapid bays are higher. No app registration required at most Tesco sites.
Pod Point at Tesco is best for topping up cheaply while you shop. If you need rapid charging for a long journey, look elsewhere — the network is AC-dominant. The 75 kW CCS chargers at larger Tesco stores are the fastest on the network.
